Lessons are offered on a Semester Basis (Fall, Spring, and Summer) for weekly enrolled students.
Fall Semester: September – January
Spring Semester: February – June
Summer Term: Flexible scheduling (June – August)
The studio observes major federal holidays and standard school break weeks. Official semester calendar dates are provided upon registration.

At Boston Harp Studio, we offer two distinct enrollment tracks to accommodate both consistent weekly study and busy schedules.
Option A: Traditional Semester Enrollment (Weekly)
Best for students seeking a consistent, recurring weekly lesson time.
Format: Reserved recurring weekly slot throughout the semester.
Rates:
30 Minutes: $65 / lesson
45 Minutes: $100 / lesson
60 Minutes: $130 / lesson
Payment Terms: Billed for the full semester (due on or before the first lesson) or via monthly installment plans due on the 1st of each month.
Option B: Flex Pass (Lesson Packs)
Designed exclusively for students with rotating work, travel, or irregular schedules.
5-Lesson Flex Pass: (Expires 90 days from purchase)
10-Lesson Flex Pass: (Expires 180 days from purchase)
How it Works: Purchase your pack upfront and book lessons as your schedule allows, subject to studio availability.
Scheduling: Flex Pass lessons must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
Expiration: Unused lesson credits after the expiration date are non-refundable and forfeited.
3. Payment Methods & Cash Policy
Boston Harp Studio accepts electronic payments (Zelle (preferred), Venmo) checks, and cash.
Pre-Payment Requirement: Payments must be paid in full on or before the first lesson of the semester, monthly cycle, or Flex Pass package.

Semester Students (1 Allowed Makeup)
Because your weekly time slot is reserved exclusively for you, tuition is non-refundable. However, to accommodate unexpected life events or acute illness, semester students are granted one (1) makeup per semester, provided at least 24 hours’ advance notice is given.
For your allowed makeup, you may choose one of the following options:
Option A: Schedule Make Up — Coordinate with Ting to schedule a make up lesson within the semester.
Option B: Video Lesson Exchange — If you are too ill for a live lesson, submit a video recording of your practice pieces once recovered. Ting will review and send back detailed video/written feedback and next steps.
Note: Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice (excluding sudden acute illness) or additional absences beyond the 1-lesson allowance cannot be made up or refunded.
Teacher Cancellations: If Ting cancels a lesson for any reason, the lesson will either be made up at a mutually convenient time or, if a makeup cannot be scheduled before the end of the semester, a prorated refund will be issued for that lesson.
Flex Pass Cancellations
Once a Flex Pass lesson is scheduled, cancellations require at least 24 hours’ advance notice to hold and reschedule the lesson credit. Late cancellations or no-shows forfeit that credit.
Virtual Lesson Backup (For Minor Conflicts)
If a student has a minor scheduling hiccup, transportation issue, or mild weather concerns (and is not too sick to play), lessons can easily be held online via Google Meets during your regular slot. Please request a Google Meets link at least 2 hours prior to your lesson time.
-
Arrival: Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your scheduled lesson time to respect the privacy and focus of the preceding student.
Hygiene & Hands: Students are required to wash their hands upon entering the studio before touching instruments. Fingernails must be kept short and trimmed to ensure correct technique and protect instrument strings.
-
Practice: Consistent practice is essential for musical development. Recommended daily practice goals will be outlined in your assignment notebook.
Instruments: Students must have an acoustic harp (lever or pedal) and/or piano in good working condition at home, along with a tuning key, electronic tuner, adjustable music stand, and required sheet music.
